My last post for 2016...

Bitter sweet to say that this will be my last post for 2016! I am slowly winding down things as I prepare for the birth of my baby boy in December, so I have had to take my own advice and take my foot off the pedal! I cannot wait to see what this new chapter in my life holds for me and am sure will bring you another dimension of teachings and lessons that I will learn along the way. I will be kicking off things again for 2016 in March and will be actively consulting with clients again in April.

In the meantime I am working on a few things in the background which includes a small "Detox" program which will be launched sometime in Feb 2017! So stay tuned for more information on this.

Reflecting upon the year I have had, I feel the need to write something a bit more personal for this month's blog, something from the soul....so here it is...

I love what I do....but who I am is not what I do.

My success or worth is not defined by the things I have in my life...it is not defined by my house, where I live, my career achievements, my partner, friends, further children, lifestyle or anything else exterior. I am worthy because I simply exist and my success is defined by my soul ....

I want my legacy when I leave this world to be reflected only in the people whose lives I have changed for the better...

Unfortunately, most of the time I struggle to live in a world where we place so much value on the things we have, our achievements or our ability to fit in, instead of in the beauty of our authenticity, our differences and who we are as people rather than the way we look or the things we have....
Even experiences are fleeting, short lived & can leave you with an emptiness unless you learn something from them, grow & evolve...

I feel my true purpose in this world is to spark thinking in others and wake people up to living a life true to themselves rather than just conforming to the life we are told is acceptable to live by society.

I hope my son will grow to question everything! To move against the crowd if he feels it does not serve a purpose, question the things we are told are right to follow in society such as tradition, marriage, baby showers, vaccinations, social media, politics, industries, media, food choices, our drinking culture, religion, relationships and much more and ensure if he chooses this path....it is for reasons of his own not because he "thinks" it is what is expected of him....

For me, I finally feel awake and my goal for 2017 is to speak my truth no matter how controversial or different it may be, so I can ignite individual thinking in others....I want to "be the change that I want to see in the world" as the insightful Mahatma Gandhi so eloquently stated.

What are your goals for 2017 and what change do you want to be that you would like to see in the world? ....Would treasure your comments on this below.

Desiree xx
